| Vegas was a blast. Felt good to hang out with friends I haven't seen in a few months. It's funny when people asked me who I traveling with and I had to say, well... we're actually all just meeting there. We arrived in LV from five different states. How cool is that? (Not as cool as Steve's uncle's lexus, which has a camera and displays what's behind you when you go in reverse... totally amused me, not gonna lie). The only thing that sucked was that my flight was delayed three hours! This suckiness was threefold: 1) I knew it was delayed before I got to the airport so I didn't get there as early as I normally would have, but it kept getting more delayed after I got there... the terminal was in chaos and the gates kept switching and I made friends with other confused passengers... 2) if I knew it was going to be THAT delayed I could have gone rollerskating for a little bit with 2xs... 3) I was supposed to get in at 10pm vegas time, but I didnt get in until 1am, so that was a night wasted. I left a voicemail with those fools telling them when we took off, but this was the list of voicemails that awaited me when I landed:
1. Kimmie: 'whalshtielslaleesgghhhh!!! where are you??? we're waiting for you!! I'm so sorry we've all been drinking so I dunno if we can pick you up! I'm so so so so sorry! we'll reimburse you for the cab!!! or here, talk to Jas, she took a shuttle... (passes the phone to Jas): 'hello? .... .... oh wait this is a message?...'
2. Jas (who got cut off while describing which shuttle to take): 'so yeah, we're in room 7039'
3. Steve: 'yo Tra! uh it's Steve. Don't know where you are... hope you're not waiting for me at the airport... give me a call... latah'
aaaaand 4. Kimmie (in a more sober voice): 'Hey Trace, it's almost 1. I know your flight was delayed but we thought we would have heard from you by now. Getting kind of worried...'
Boring detail. Anyway, Amy wanted to do something sinful, which we never really got to do. No strip club, no Thunder From Down Under. Lots of laughing, lots of shots, lots of picture taking. Overall a very good time. The only complaint I have about Vegas, which is relatively very clean and has nice parking, is that it's smoky EVERYWHERE. I'm not used to people being able to smoke inside and it was very rough on my lungs. By the end of the first day, I felt like how you feel in the morning after going out the night before and smoking too many cigarettes while drinking. Gross! However the weather was pretty nice, warm enough to be able to walk around outside with long sleeves on, clear and sunny. Sightseeing on Tuesday, tried to get into Pure that night (but couldn't get in cuz Dann didn't have black soled shoes-- super strict dress code). Wednesday, celebrated Steve's bday (and Dann's since his was on Christmas). We made them wear happy birthday banners all day and alot of people said happy birthday throughout the day, which we got a kick out of every single time. Ate like freakin animals at the buffet at Rio. Went up to the Stratosphere right at sunset, which was absolutely gorgeous. We went on a few of the rides up there, which was crazy scary but so much fun. Ended the day at Tao, which is in the Venetian. At first I was kind of self conscious of us, being in a hoity toity club with hoity toity people drinking their hoity toity martinis. But then I thought, since when do I get embarassed by us (wait, scratch that, we actually embarass ourselves alot), but whatever, it's our last night in vegas, there were some others dancing (in their hoity toity I can't move too much or my fake boobs are going to fall out way), and we got other people to join us dancing too. Good stuff!
Pics to come...
